Bartholomew Broadbent owns Broadbent Selections, one of America’s finest wine importers. He also produces Broadbent Madeira, Vinho Verde and Port. He moved to the US in 1985 to develop the Port market and reintroduced Madeira to the USA in 1988. "He has expanded from his pivotal role in the breathtaking growth of Port and Madeira to exert a profound influence on the US wine market” wrote Decanter magazine in 1997 who named him one of the “fifty most influential in the wine world…the faces to watch in the new millennium”. Profiled by Wine Spectator , Market Watch “The Pioneer of Port”  and Forbes.com , the son of Michael Broadbent MW, Bartholomew was also named by Wine&Spirits in 2008 as one of ten in the world to be “driving the most revolutionary changes in wine” for his work producing Chinese wine. Broadbent Selections continues to build the Madeira revival but now also represents world famous wines like Gusbourne from England, Chateau Musar, Ferreira, Spy Valley, Tyrrell’s and 14 of the most cutting edge winemakers in South Africa, including Eben Sadie, Chris Alheit and Adi Badenhorst. After 21 years in San Francisco he moved to Richmond, Virginia 9 years ago.
